Nordin Ahmad

 Pada tahun 2010, saya pernah menjejakkan kaki ke Singapura sebanyak dua kali demi mencari pusara Allahyarham Nordin Ahmad. Namun, segala usaha ketika itu menemui jalan buntu. Walaupun dibantu beberapa sahabat yang menetap di sana, pencarian itu tetap tidak berhasil. Barangkali ketika itu kajian saya masih belum cukup mendalam, dan tiada rujukan jelas yang boleh dijadikan panduan.

Lebih menyedihkan, tiada juga usaha teratur daripada mana-mana pihak berkepentingan sebelum ini untuk menjejak lokasi sebenar pusara beliau, maka sebab itulah nama besar seperti Nordin Ahmad lama tenggelam dalam lipatan sejarah, tidak diraikan sebagaimana sewajarnya di tanah kelahirannya sendiri.

Enam tahun kemudian, saya kembali merancang perjalanan ke Singapura. Kali ini, saya ditemani isteri datang dengan persiapan yang jauh lebih menyeluruh, dengan kajian, maklumat, dan jejak sejarah yang lebih terperinci. Sekali lagi saya bertemu rakan-rakan di Singapura yang tidak jemu membantu pencarian ini.

Berkat takdir Allah, saya juga dipertemukan dengan anak-anak Allahyarham melalui anak kepada seniman Malek Selamat, yang membuka satu lagi pintu untuk merungkai lokasi sebenar pusara legenda tersebut.

Akhirnya, pada tanggal 21 Februari 2016, saya dibawa ke Pusara Abadi Muslim Cemetery, Jalan Bahar, Lim Chu Kang, Singapura. Di sinilah bersemadinya seorang seniman unggul yang mengabadikan seluruh hidupnya kepada dunia seni tanpa ada apa-apa pengiktirafan yang sewajarnya kepada beliau.

Dahulu beliau dikebumikan di perkuburan Islam Kg Bedok (Kew Drive). Atas permintaan waris, kubur beliau kemudian telah dipindahkan ke Pusara Abadi Muslim Cemetery, Jalan Bahar, Lim Chu Kang. Kubur Bedok (Kubur Boyan) masih ada melalui Lucky Heights Garden atau Pabuary Avenue.

Titipan doa dan Al-Fatihah buat Allahyarham Nordin Ahmad, seorang permata seni yang namanya wajar dijulang, bukan dilupakan.
