upright thing of green sprouts out of the ground,

the iced-over winter,

The hazy
roots of bamboo spreads out,
And the

berdiri menunjuk langit
するどき青きもの地面に生え、tunas
rebung itu bagai kerambit
凍れる冬をつらぬきて、membelah
dingin pagi yang menggigit
そのみどり葉光る朝の空路に、kala pagi menyuluh
dedaun buluh
なみだたれ、kubiarkan
jatuh
なみだをたれ、air mata sesalan,
ke atas jalan
いまはや懺悔をはれる肩の上より、segala
sesalku kini sirna
けぶれる竹の根はひろごり、pada bahu aku merasa,
akar buluh mula menjalar
するどき青きもの地面に生え。tunasnya
mula keluar
